Event Series Event Series: Monday Night Classes

September 22 @ 7:15 pm 9:30 pm

Join this interactive discussion to talk about consent for kink. We’ll go over best practices for getting consent for kink, negotiation tips, and red flags to watch out for. We’ll also explain how to get consent for kink using Explicit Prior Permission (EPP), the new legal framework that NCSF helped create in the revised Model Penal Code on Sexual Assault. We’ll also talk about the liability risks involved in consent incidents, and why groups need policies & procedures to handle reports. Come and get your questions about consent answered!

Presenter Bio:

Susan Wright founded the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom in 1997, and serves as Executive Director.

She currently chairs the Consent Counts Committee that worked with the American Law Institute to revise the Model Penal Code on Sexual Assault to create Section 213:10 Explicit Prior Permission for consent to kink.

She also chaired NCSF’s successful DSM Revision Project which helped result in the consensual paraphilias being separated from the Paraphilic Disorders in the DSM-5 (2013).

Susan has presented over a hundred workshops for professional organizations, colleges and community groups on discrimination, consent, and media influence on the persecution of alternative sexualities. Susan’s research focuses on discrimination and violence against alt-sex practitioners, consent practices and attitudes, and the mental and physical health of alt-sex practitioners, with 23 papers published in professional journals. www.ncsfreedom.org
