Did you know that some of the earliest historical roots of BDSM also tied to worship of the Goddess? Join us at APEX as we explore the long and complex relationship between feminine power, sacred dominance, and the shaping of belief systems across time.
We’ll begin with pre-historic societies where female supremacy and Goddess worship were central to life and culture. From there, we’ll move through the shifts of the Biblical era, where figures like Lilith, Eve, the Virgin Mary, and Mary Magdalene were reinterpreted — sometimes revered, often vilified — as reflections of changing power dynamics. We’ll look at the Spanish Inquisition’s witch trials as a violent effort to suppress the feminine divine, and how those narratives echoed through history to shape modern understandings of authority, submission, and worship.
Finally, we’ll bring these threads into the present, exploring how the archetype of the Goddess continues to influence power exchange, kink, and the enduring celebration of the dominant feminine in modern practice. All experience levels welcome.
