Whips: A Beginning Point + Book Signing with Dex

Adults learn new skills quicker by relating what they already know to the learning task. A beginning point for whips takes a look at all types of whips thrown in the dungeon and common techniques for throwing them. Then looks at all types of singletails and relates those common techniques everyone has experience with to throwing a singletail. The goal of the workshop is a beginning point that will quickly get everyone comfortable throwing a singletail in the dungeon.

In this workshop, we will explore how to develop a controlled puff, connect your footwork to changes on the other end of the whip, and identify your preferred throwing style. We will examine dynamic throwing with a rhythm, changing planes, feathering techniques, and breaking rhythm. Whip scenes can be both erotic and hypnotic, so we will discuss timing, feel, touch and marking time, as well as connecting with the music, and energy in the dungeon.

A book signing will occur from 6:30 pm to 7:15 pm, at which point our normal class activities will begin.

Presenter Bio:

Dex is a Dominant who began his journey in the leather lifestyle 24 years ago on an educational and self-reflective path of discovery. He was the leader of an extended leather family for several years, with a house that was well-known for its dungeons and hospitality. As a retired college professor, Dex naturally put his teaching skills to use in the lifestyle. Dex loves to teach and his greatest passions are caning and whip play. He is the author of Whips in the Dungeon: Singletail Techniques for Play available on Amazon. He also produces the YouTube channels: The Leather Journey and Whips in the Dungeon.
